I don't think Aiava can beat Martincova or Jakupovic or Kucova. She has no defense.
Those girls will give her tons of balls to hit and she'll spray them. But maybe she'll do what Keys did this week in Cincinnati: play smart tennis for a full tournament. I'd be surprised.

I can't stand the cut-off date for these Qualifiers. It's too early.
Rybakina is #64 in last Monday's ranking; that's 3 weeks before the USA and she is playing Qualifiers....
while Gavrilova and Lisicky Doi are in the main draw :(

Agreed about Rybakina, deserves main draw participation....

Sabine's in the maindraw? Really?

Well....she beat Martincova in Charleston this year by score of 6-3, 6-1, so I would suspect that she has confidence in facing her again. Further, I've been reading some good things about Greet Minnen, who is in her section of the draw and who would be difficult for Destanee to best, if they meet. Yet, I don't think she'll emerge from qualies, nevertheless, for her record this year on the Tour and the ITF is not very good, tho' for some reason she's received a # of WCs to Tour events (Birmingham, DC, Toronto and the Netherlands) with abysmally low rankings near the 200s. Still a player-of-interest for me, merely hoping that she qualifies for her sake and, if qualies are streamed, will watch all of her matches.

Greet Minnen, with her power tennis, was supposed to crush Cori Gauff. Coco served her French baguettes. Nevertheless, Minnen's game is a bit too much for poor Aiava.
The Australian needs really to go back to the drawing board. She lacks defense. She barely chases balls around the court. She gives up too easily.

 Corie served bread to Greet? Ok...

Re, Destanee, when I've seen her play this year, she lacks fire and appears to be just going through the motions, lacking motivation to compete. Her current coach isn't making things better, for I've found her "drab" during their occs. Needs a change in attitude and coaching, imo, then we'll see, for she's too young to give up on at age 19 and just hoping for a turnaround "soon". Reminds me a lot of Naomi at her age and just needs a "push" to get her on the right track to fulfill her promise that we saw earlier.

ESPN+ is streaming 5 courts (4, 6, 7, 11 and 12) for qualies...... Gonna cost you 5 bucks to witness. Sorry, Ace..... :)

Unfortunately, Sabine is not participating at this USO. Sad for my girl. Showed promise early.......top-10 power, big-time serve, but not a top-10 brain. Mentally/emotionally fragile, weeps often. A prime example of a player who never matured during her career, another wasted talent, as another German girl, who I absolutely thought would be a tremendous asset to this Tour, Mona Barthel, who is just as emotionally/mentally fragile, but who doesn't weep. Turns 30 next month....

Yes, Gauff beat Minnen 6-1 6-1 @ Wimbledon QR2.
Coco was leading 6-1 5-0 when came a close call Minnen thought was wrong. Minnen walked up to the ref and said, "she is already leading 6-1 5-0 .. ?" And the ref replied calmly "I know" ..
Minnen quietly walked back to serve. That was funny. She did manage to hold to avoid the bagel though.
