Yeah ... I was hoping Vekic would win. Always rooting for the aggressive players. ...
Only 1 team has Vekic. Lucky shot !!!
Halep being my weakest link.
Bencic taking down only 3 teams... Doesn't hurt much. If Halep goes down, lots of teams will hurt. :( :(

Barty and Halep the only top10-players left in the draw...

Looks like a Stephens-Halep final coming our way. A bit annoyed with the Osaka-loss: I saw the Azarenka-Osaka match in parts, an especially in the first two sets, I was actually enjoying Azarenka :-).. Imo, the better player lost that match. So to see Osaka lose her next match is not nice.

Watched the match between Vika and Naomi and the only reason she lost to Naomi in the 3rd is because she physically petered out. In the lst 2 sets Vika was in control of most of the rallies, redirected with good pace and placement, making Naomi move to return, keeping her off balance, like she did in her earlier years. Naomi was lucky to win the 2nd as Vika dfed a lot on her own accord to lose that set. The 3rd set she was out of it physically. She's got her weight back, as opposed to last year when she was just too skinny and has regained some of her power in her ground game, but the serve doesn't do much damage as it didn't prior to childbirth, the only difference between her and Serena and Petra K. Her competitive spirit remains strong, but she turns "30" next month. Not saying that Vika will begin to decline due to such, because Roger, Serena and Venus have proven that a player can remain competitive and be a champion in the cases of Roger and Serena into and beyond their mid-30's, the jury still out on Vika's prospects, even with a child in tow. Yet, this Tour needs a consistent "reliable" player at the top, like Vika, given that the Tour only had "one" in Serena for such a long time. Already at this event 7 of the top-10 for the ladies has fallen by the 3rd rd, tho' Petra K and Kiki withdrew, while the men's top-10 remains intact. After the debacle in Rome, the top players withdrawing, a lackluster final drawing a less than half-full stadium (an embarrassment for the women's game) for a so-called premier event and now this debacle, a prime, consistent reliable Vika is what this Tour needs.
