Beautiful lake in the summer, loads of cultural amenities at one's disposal, the Magnificent Mile going north on Michigan Ave from downtown is where most tourists go for the evenings, tho' parking fees are outrageous in the downtown and northern/southern areas. The California Zephyr.....remember watching that train go by at a recreational park that I frequented in my youth, sledding from a slight hill near the tracks and ice skating. It sped by religiously at about 5:45 p.m. everyday on it's way to California and on the rear of such it said....."California Zephyr" in red and white letters with a black back drop.... 54 hours? ......
