Henin work every off-season like hell to get stronger... serena took a well-deserved holiday in those months.. yet Henin never got even close to her strength.

Other example: two guys will practice all their life to run hard: one gets below 10 sec, the other never below 12 sec
Why? Because mother nature simply gifted one with the perfect genes.

Same for power: for some, it comes naturally (they still need to work on it, but way less than others).

As for the draw opening up for the pushers... weird that it never opens up for those bashers
"Never argue with an idiot - they take you down to their level and then beat you on experience"

"Don't wrestle with a pig: you both get dirty, but the pig actually likes it"

LOL LOL...If the draw opens up for ballbashers, they bash their way out anyway. Because by nature, ballbashers beat themselves more often, and pushers rarely do beat themselves.
That was funny though.

Just got to watch this girls' match.
Cori had a clean start. No error. just hitting winner. Went 2-0, 30-love. Total domination. Then from that 2-0 30-0, she hit a DF 15-30 .. then 2 more DF to give the game away.Broken.. Back on serve.

Story of the match seems the same like in that first encounter with tons of DF.
Same story today. The girl must have hit 20 DF. What's the rush, coach?
And she is in a hurry to turn pro at 14? Take your time girl. You are not ready. Got to practice your serve.

Eyewitness testimonial

Cori Gauff

I saw the whole Dasha vs Cori match. This was the real final.

Very impressed by Dasha. And also by Gauff.
Insane tennis for 15 yo (Lopatetskaya) and 14 yo (Gauff) girls !

This match was an intensive fight/battle. They fought very hard.
Both have a great attitude, much more mature/better than normal 14/15 yo girls.
They are both tall and have a similar game and strokes, only Gauff attacks the net more.

Strong groundstrokes. They understand the game well.
Dasha looked a bit more mature with her game and her shots.

The weakness from both girls is (no surprise) the serve, especially from Gauff.

Both are very talented and a joy to watch. If they stay healthy, keep working hard and improving, and keep the desire for tennis and the big fight, then they will have great careers as WTA players and reach the Top 10 for sure !

Cori Gauff reminds me in many things of Serena :)
(The attitude, look and so on. But of course the serve is a big difference.)

My dream final would be Lopatetskaya vs Osorio Serrano !
But not sure how much energy Dasha has left now. She also played Quali.
There. You got a reporter :)...
Enjoy.

US Open Girls Doubles Final
Gauff C. / McNally C. (1) vs Baptiste H. / Hewitt D.

Not watching but from scoreboard, Gauff/Mcnally leading 6-3 5-2
The learning continues. Doubles should help. Don't burn out for playing too much too soon. See Bencic?

Umm, Coco Gauff already did turn professional last year, and signed with Federer's agency. :P You think she's in a rush to be a pro? Tell me how many players on tour can hit 120-mph serves, lol.

And it's always hilarious to read Ace's thoughts on the "pushers," who shouldn't even be winning tennis matches according to him.
