Halep in a real dogfight with Hsieh. Hsieh another one of those crafty players that can give the top seeds fits with all her variety and off pace shots. Halep has to dig real deep in this match as she tries to find a way to deal with the tricky game of Hsieh. She is the Fabrice Santoro of the women's game.

Hsieh just broke to go up 6-5 and serve for the match!!!

Halep OUT!!!! The crafty Hsieh does it!! Women's top seeds have fallen like flies. What a crazy Wimbledon this has been as the drama and upsets continue on the ladies side.

Angie routines the one-dimensional Osaka.....not surprised. No changes for Naomi under Sascha. Still the same.....

#ed_op#i#ed_cl#So....... for a "Slam" after the 3rd rd the only remnant from the so-called top-10 is Karolina Pliskova. Women's tennis.......#ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#img src="/board/richedit/smileys/Rolleyes/5.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#

Top half still loaded with players that I would like to go deep. No complaining from me...

There were hardly any top10 players playing a decent grass warm-up program; no wonder they get spanked... Serena is the logical exception.

I have to say I'm a bit stunned by the play on the ladies side this year. The top players usually have held form on the grass. It's not just that they have lost but it's who they have lost to. Sharapova and Keys, both very good grass court players, going out to qualifiers??? Kvitova going out in the first round to a player who was looking for her FIRST grass court win of the season. Muguruza losing to Van Uytvanck who had not advanced beyond the 2nd round at Wimbledon in 5 previous appearances. Halep losing to Hsieh??

All of those seeded players were coming into Wimbledon in good form so I'm not quite sure what the reason is this year. A little over-confidence and underestimating the opposition perhaps?
