Casey Dellacqua, Australian doubles specialist, announced via a Facebook video that she is officially retiring from tennis at age 33. She cites that at this stage in the lives of her children, she really wants to spend more time with her family and to be a mom.
She hasn't played much in the last 3 years, after suffering from a head injury in 2015, and said that retirement has been on her mind for a while.
Casey turned pro in 2002, and has reached a career high ranking of 26 in singles and 3 in doubles. She's only won 1 mixed doubles grand slam, despite reaching 7 women's doubles grand slam finals.
Wishing her well...
