Q:

If others in her bracket are playing (Carla & Coco) why isn't Venus playing today??

She is a pro. Should be able to handle it. She's been practicing, playing WTT.

Venus loses to BMS in three. 7-6(4) 3-6 1-6

She needs to get David back or hire a coach.
What she is doing now obviously isn't working.

Seriously, I don't even know why a tournament hands Venus a Wild Cards. It's not like she's been out due to injuries. Her ranking reflects her current level.

Let's not play dumb.

Venus Williams is a household name, can still draw a crowd(especially at a US tournament in the state she grew up in as a child),
and this is a business. Furthermore, let's stop pretending a legend in the sport, whom still has the second highest singles Slam count among active players isn't going to get wild cards based on no set criteria of all the years prior for handing out wild cards. Didn't start with Venus and won't end with Venus.
