Collins (USA) Of note......the scheduler(s) gave Cori Center Court tomorrow. Re: Wimby Day 5 OOP, 7/5/19She should beat Hercog. She's shown she can handle the junk balls. Re: Wimby Day 5 OOP, 7/5/19Juvan is the new Ace2Ace recruit. Girl was overwhelmed by the Compton Queen. Tough draw for her. There are bunch of pushers in the draw she would have crushed today. For her first Wimbledon appearance, she showed the tennis world she is here to say. I just heard she is the one that beat Cori Gauff in French Open Qualifying R3. And it makes sense. Animosiva, Gauff, Juvan, Kuzmova, ... WTA has a great future with those fine power players. Pushers go home.

Re: Wimby Day 5 OOP, 7/5/19Congrats to Cori on getting to the 2nd week, enabled by the inept play of Polona. She out-sliced the slicer, who pulled up leading 5-2 in the 2nd, dominating the match with her serve and forehand in order to fold and lose eventually. Cori, again, poised the more stable player in the 3rd set, hardly giving up any points, putting the pressure on a veteran player. One got the feeling watching the rallies that she was in control of such, her court coverage o/s, but playing against a player who over-relied on the slice, sliced herself into a plane ticket. A veteran player playing not to lose. Re: Wimby Day 5 OOP, 7/5/19Give Cori 3 more years and she will be a fierce opponent. Congratulations to the youngsters who really didn't want to go home. |
