How about Pironkova coming off almost a three year absence from the game and taking out Muguruza.....in straight sets no less.

As a Venus fan I have a visceral reaction to that name! :twisted:

Seriously though, she seemingly reappeared out of no where. I heard she had a baby a few years ago?
Interesting to see the number of mothers increasing among active players.

Yes, she had a son, Alexander, which prompted her "informal" retirement. I am also not too happy to see that name again for the same reason you mentioned above, but nevertheless I am wishing her the best in her comeback.

Into round 3 of the Open so not too shabby thus far.
