PGames - wk 5

Post by Graveller » Jan Mon 28, 2019 9:03 am

The Australian Open is Over, and the Big Winners are Jeff in Texas and Rex.

Jeff in Texas won both ATP and WTA PGame AO Slam; after winning his first Slam ever last year at the US Open (ATP), he now adds two more slams, including his first WTA Slam. It is his 4th WTA season, so it was about time.
In the ATP rolling ranking, he consolidated his #1 position, and is now leading Wannadoo75 by 44 points. It will take some time to close such a gap.

Rex won the WTA Slam (together with Jeff); for him, it is already his 7th WTA Slam (and 2nd Aussie Open; first one was in 2017).
This win also resulted in Rex becoming #1 in the WTA rolling ranking (for the 9th time); last time that he was #1, was Wk4 in 2018; so exactly one year ago....
He succeeds Graveller who was #1 for 20 weeks, and has a lead of 22 points.

This week we play WTA Hua Hin (new event) and Premier St.Petersburg (title defender 93tennisrolyalty)

Watching Van Uytvanck vs Sabalenka; Alison finally getting a break in set 2 (Aryna got rid of so many BP with a winning serve earlier)...
Still 6-1 1-3 for Sabalenka... hoping for a 3rd set

Also, Sabalenka has such a familiar face, but I could not pinpoint the person she reminded me of, until she made a specific facial expression in this match... She is the female clone of Andy Roddick!

Alison gifing back that break... Still leading 3-2 in this set, but I would not be surprised to see Sabalenka win all games from now on.
