USOpen 2019 Skan is online !

Post by Graveller » Aug Mon 19, 2019 6:15 am

My provisional team has been submitted.

I am going boring with the men, and calculated risk in the WTA-department
(and now waiting to see if my team is compatible with the draw).

Thanks for starting this hot contest !!!!!!!!!!!!
I see you learn your lesson for the ATP. If you don't have 2 of the big 3, you'll quickly move to District RU90 and never get out of there.
There is no competition @ ATP. We know at least 2 of the big 3 will be in the SF.

The ATP top 3 entered ATP1000 Cinci, and the final was Goffin vs Medvedev....

And don't start with "it's not a slam"... I am not buying the the idea that ultra-competitive players would not give it their best to win these top events because 'it is not a slam'
The last thing that Djokovic wanted - after a great first set display vs Medvedev - was to give this talented player the belief that he can beat Novak...

If Medvedev faces Novak in two weeks at the US Open, he will step on the court knowing that he cat beat this guy.

But I picked Novak and Nadal because I now think that they are at their best.... But I still may mix it up - depening on where Medvedev and Goffin end up in the draw for example. The Thiem - Medvedev -Zverev combo is still an option for me (especially because the US Open has a recent history of weird finals/finalists, it has been since 2013 that we saw a final between two of the top3 in this slam. Getting that unexpected finalist(s) will determine the Skan win....

OK... Good luck gambling with those new ATP players. I will only fool around with new players on the WTA side where things have been happening at slams.
Isn't it that 10 of the last 11 ATP slams have been won by the same 3 guys? ??? Doesn't mean someone else won't surprise us. But the chances are very slim.
Since I don't follow ATP, I always have hard time picking the 3rd crew member. :) :) :)

lol .. vedvedeved ... I thought I was the only one having hard time with his name...
I can't have him when I already have 2 of the 3 usual suspects. He is ranked #5. It's too low. :( :( I need someone 13 or higher.
And Wawrinka's been losing lately. My friend Benoit Paire is too bearded; trying to be the Lebron James of Tennis and it's not working. lol lol

Novak was reserving his energy, as his elbow was acting up!! No way will Daniil beat him in five sets at this USO!!
