1 and 3 = over and out.

Yet Shugs has the gall to say she gave Kerbs confidence, like it was hers to give or take.

I'd say that was pitiful, but it's hard to know what pumping PEDS in your system over ten years does to the mind. Shugs prolly needs more time to clean out her valves.
go firmly to the window
and listen with deep emotion,
but not with the whining, the pleas of the coward;
listen-your final pleasure-to the voices,
to the exquisite music of that strange procession

Maria played quite horribly. She couldn't do anything out there. She needs to figure out something quickly or retire.

Trust me, Maria was on more than meldo. She might've gotten spooked and dropped the entire cocktail, but again, she's arrogant enough to tempt fate.

Maria is about to turn 31.... that is older than the retirement age of Graf, Seles, Clijsters, Henin, Capriati, Mauresmo, and Davenport (her first retirement, and did not win anything major after that).

Serena and Venus are the huge exception, NOT the standard. So imo Maria is living on borrowed tennis-time.

Without a lingering, debilitating injury, she's not gong to quit as tennis provides her a huge platform upon which to promote her brand (tainted) and sell many side projects and companies. #ed_op#br#ed_cl#

Her shoulder has been an issue for 9 years... and maybe you ignored her over last 9 months, but there were quite some injury-related breaks, and when she played, she was not competitive when facing a decent player.

Not even ranked top40 atm with 1116 points prior the AO.
Henin had 1700 points after 1 month into her comeback.

Yes, I was VERY sure that Maria would win but I'm VERY pleasantly surprised that she didn't! One thing is for sure: she's not hitting with the depth that she was hitting with when she was on drugs which tells me that she was taking something else along with Meldonium...

I can: Kerber is not that tall and so her center of gravity is naturally lower to the ground. The rule in tennis is: Whenever a ball is hit at you with pace, the lower to the ground, the better to get a full upswing. and the higher the ball, the better a more upright position would entail. ALso, with pace, there is no real time to react and a crouched position allows for that
