Well, since no one had Ostapenko, the impact on the SKAN standings will be the points lost by those with Halep, which will vary as a function of where she was placed on their respective teams.
I tuned in this morning with Halep up a set and a break, with points for 4-0 in the second. With Halep being such a strong front runner, of course I expected a quick finish. But frankly, the surprise was that Halep had established such a lead to begin with, because Ostapenko was all over her, clearly the aggressor, with Simona fashioning timid defensive play.
Glad to see the risk taker emerge as the champion!
