Serena could barely kick Merten yesterday. She was sluggish, double faulting like crazy.
She had only 1 ace up to half way in the 2nd set.... and 4 DF to go along wit that. That's way below her standard. She's is not going to beat Osaka with that kind of performance.

It's worrying when Serena starts losing her service game very early in sets. I see it more and more from her.

Yup ... true. I love it when she start the match with monster serves and aces.
But she starts with DF, push serves, you know she is not ready for a big fight.

Totally agree. Serena is not ready for the "big girls", playing like this. She will have to raise her game to have a chance against Osaka. Or Naomi has to self-destruct.
