Hats off to Kasatkina: finally a decent result, beating Kerber.

This is why I say she shouldn't get WC. Her ranking reflects her current level. It's not like she is coming back from injury long lay-off.
I know she got in the MD after a few players dropped out. But you can see her win/loss reflects her current game.
Pretty soon, she'll play ITF if she doesn't want to retire.

Just admit that their is no criteria for WC and it is mainly for tournament directors to give
away as they see fit. Venus fits the bill as superstar power even if her current game doesn't
merit. I may be going on here, but I just get tired of some behaving as if Venus is the
first aging star to ever receive favors based off their past success.

Back to Venus, she most definitely needs a coach. I'm just flabbergasted here mostly because
despite her decline over the past few years(save 2017 and two Major Finals and a SF),
Birmingham showed some good things along with IW & Miami. Where did that Venus go?

Part of my wishes she'd contact Sacha, but being with Kiki M., his past with Serena, and
him looking for his next Naomi/Serena, he'd probably decline working with her seeing she is in her twilight.

When is the cut-off for the Tokyo Games? Looks like Doubles and/or Mixed(as reigning silver medalist) will be
her nly chances of taking part in the competition.
