Serena will never win #24Forget it .. This is not happening. No serve. No return. No ground strokes. She needs 2 of those working to win matches. Today, even with Halep playing her best tennis, at least tennis could have serve. 1 aces an entire match. almost no service winners ... that's astonishing.
Re: Serena will never win #24An entire match, Serena hit 1 ace. If you are hitting 20 aces and Halep beats you, I can understand that. But nothing. Absolutely nothing. Halep was running after every ball. But Serena couldn't even put the easiest balls over the net. Did Halep prevent her from serving?
Re: Serena will never win #24Her knee might've been an issue again. Re: Serena will never win #24no.. she's been saying her knee is fine. All tournament long.. The knee couldn't just give up on the eve of the biggest match. Who can believe Serena playing an entire match hitting only 1 ace. Even Coco Gauff hist 7 aces
Re: Serena will never win #24It does happen plus she might've been bluffing about the knee. Re: Serena will never win #24She plays great again Riske who gave her more than Halep. Serena couldn't hit a ball over the net. 26 UE? 4 winners, 1 ace. Forget #24. She could make the Final at the USO, and lose to Lauren Davis in the final
Re: Serena will never win #24She would've lost to anyone today, literally anyone. Coco would've won today for sure. Re: Serena will never win #24I'll stop talking about #24. no more #24 in my Skan title.. Sticking with #23. There must be a curse on #24 Serena should not win Semi Final if she's gonna be a no show in the Final Re: Serena will never win #24Halep is a good returner, worked on her serve, and Serena was the same Serena as I saw in the previous rounds: decent serve (remember those 3 winning serves when 0-30 down at 2-4 in the second). Aces don't matter if it is a winning serve, or you finish it in the next shot. But her movement is killing her. And she is constantly on the losing end in longer rallies. She had a dream run towards the final with only one Top20 player (Goerges), and that probably blinded some (it did blind the commenters), but the fact she needed 3 sets against some opponents that she used to double-bagel in her prime, is a sign. Had she faced a decent Barty in the QF, or a decent Kvitova in the SF, she may have lost earlier. But she can't help it that all those higher ranked players lost so early. Nerves affected her; at times is was brainless ball-bashing with no point construction. And because Simona kept on defending well, she went for too much. There was one game when I thought that she figured it out; she actually played a great dropshot (when Simona slipped), and at that point I expected her to start coming up with variation. But no... not a single slice, no further dropshots, nothing.... she has all the shots, and refused to use 75% of them...
