She needs Papa Williams but I don't know what his lucidity is these days since his stroke.

15 years ago she had her most embarrassing loss against Meldonia. Today she had her second or perhaps worst ever.

Serena had to have been injured ~ No other excuse for that horrible performance!! I'm thinking arm or shoulder!!

She did say "I started off injury free"!! Didn't want to discredit Simona's win, or make an injury excuse!!

#24 is coming (if she dedicates herself)!!

I am not watching any Final LIVE, if she makes it there. :(

The weight of history is getting the better of Serena. I, for one, cannot believe it either. She's always been so tough and strong willed. However it shows when she gets to a final. Maybe a sports psychologist could help her shake those nerves. Granted the other ladies are not easy to beat, but I believe Serena can still win. Maybe a few more tournaments will help, possibly a return to her old hitting partner would regain some of that old Serena magic. I really want to see her get to 25.

Still reaching 3 finals is an outstanding achievement. However with history to be made, nothing short of winning is going to matter.

That is true. I believe she would have already reached #25 had she not left for 2 years after winning #23 in Australia. But I can understand her child is worth more than all the trophies in the world.

She would've been close to 30 titles by now had she not gotten pregnant. Now I wonder if hubby is a part of a plot to derail Serena's march to history.

lol... about the plot. lol lol ..
yes, I believe she would have been close to 30, but not if she played the last 2 years.
I think earlier on, she was too distracted and was not really serious about tennis. Her dad once called her a part-time tennis player. He said she would skip/avoid practice with all kinds of excuses.. :) :)
She would rather spend time partying with Brandy, a while back... Remember???
She went without winning a single slam for something like 4, 5 years. She was too busy having fun. I guess that's why she is still "fresh" and strong and competitive. She is catching up with the years she missed.
