FYI.....Petra K. withdrew. Grav' and CrossCourt' had her as fmKo for the Pgame. They should choose another....

I had Bencic as replacement fmKO, but she defeated Kasatkina so that was a pointless modification (in more than one way :-) )

I hate it when faves meet in R1... Well, hoping for a good Bencic-run here. To give me some confidence for a potential Skan-selection.

Hi rex TY for the info -
does a fmko who withdraws not count?

I've tried replacing with Bertens but it is not reflecting -
perhaps it is too late

CCBH.....the withdrawal by your election only counts after the main draw begins. Petra withdrew prior to the start of the main draw for the event, which began at 11:00 a.m. Sunday (Adelaide) on the 12th, 6:30 p.m. Saturday CST (Midwest, Stateside) on the 11th. Apparently, you didn't change your election 'til after the event began, which should have been closed at the start of the lst match in the main draw. (I wasn't on this site yesterday evening at the start of the event). So, once the lst match began and you hadn't change your election, it remained.....

Sloane loses to Rodionova by 6-2 scores in two. That's a bad loss any way one can cut it....

Sabalenka vs Halep is an interesting QF line-up... But the way that Aryna is playing at the moment, I expect an easy win for Halep.

I wonder if Adelaide is gonna have the same reputation as Sydney: the winner often getting far in the AO draw, but rarely winning.

Edit: watching Bencic vs Goerges now; important to have a look at Bencic as she is one of my provisional Skan members...
Mertens is playing now too, but the Hobart-stream is not so good here. I tried to see Rybakina earlier (she won in 2 sets vs Cornet :-) ) but it did not work very well.

Not the best Belinda I've seen play; but she fights. 5- 3down in the first set, Goerges serving for that set at 4-5*, but Bencic breaks. It is all to play for in this set.

Belinda does not look fresh. Can't be the weather as it is only 22°C.

Edit: a hard-fought first set TB goes to Belinda... 1-0 up vs Goerges.

Belinda wins in two TBs; this time it was Bencic wgo served for the set (and match), but who failed to deliver. fortunately, she won the TB.

Mertens - in Hobart - demolished Kuzmova: 6-1 6-0
