All Tennis, All the Time
At start, I didn't care who wins.
But now, I want Madison to win. She is playig smart tennis, using her power efficiently. I like this new Keys. She doesn't go crazy with her power shots that generate tons of UEs ... a la Sabalenka.
If she keeps this up, even if she doesn't win today, she'll be winning more and collecting trophies.
Kuznetsova's shots are too weak. Her serves barely go over 80 mph. Commentators making fun of her 60mph serve, calling them cheese. lol lol
Not good enough for power lovers like Ace2Ace. Got to kill it a la Serena, Osaka, Kaja Juvan, Kuzmova, Keys.
Congrats to Maddy on her title and Svetlana on her nice run to the final. An Ok final by score but some erratic play by Madison, a lot of her groundstrokes landed halfway to the wall. Yet, hung in there down by 2 games in each set, rallied to tie and eventually win both.
Svetlana still has game and one can see how deftly she is with her racquet and constructing points. Just didn't have it to finish both sets, up by 2 games. Nevertheless, good to see her in the final at her age, competing nicely.
Only 5% (?), I thought it was much more than that. Yet, given this performance by Madison, I believe she's a threat for the USO, "if" she performs like she has in Cincy and, for me, this event having no clear titlist for such. I don't think Naomi will repeat, coupled with that recent knee injury pending an MRI result and remaining as one-dimensional as ever. Serena in doubt due to back spasms and not playing well against Simona at Wimby, tho' I'm not holding that against her for her age.
