Novak loses temper and bronze medal match
Apparently he learned nothing from his default at the US Open last year.
Re: Novak loses temper and bronze medal matchMy other thought was can you just imagine the comments if Serena or Osaka acted out in a similar fashion during the Olympics?
Re: Novak loses temper and bronze medal matchAnd finally Novak's rackets really take a licking don't they? LOL
Re: Novak loses temper and bronze medal matchApparently, his criticism of Simone Biles is being thrown back in his face. lol
Re: Novak loses temper and bronze medal matchYou know Novak absolutely lost it after losing to Carreno Busta. He could probably stomach a loss to Zverev but that loss to Busta just burnt his britches. Not only is Carreno Busta ranked outside the top 50 but that loss also eliminated Novak from medal contention. Who would've predicted that scenario before the games?
Re: Novak loses temper and bronze medal matchNovak also denied his mixed doubles partner and countrywoman Stojanovic a huge chance at leaving the games with a bronze medal by withdrawing from their bronze medal match. Also would've given the fans a chance at seeing both the number one ranked male and female players in the world compete against one another. Turned out to be a nightmare games for Novak from all angles. Re: Novak loses temper and bronze medal matchYet, everything he said was the truth. Re: Novak loses temper and bronze medal matchHe cracked under the pressure. Yet, if I've learned anything from watching him over these years, especially the past 5, he tends to come back stronger. He blew his dome here, does that mean he'll be even more focused in NYC? The results could prove grand.
Re: Novak loses temper and bronze medal matchNovak should've played that mixed doubles match regardless of how bruised his ego was. You don't leave your partner hung out to dry like that. She obviously made a huge investment in coming to Tokyo and playing through all those rounds to not even get the opportunity to play for that bronze medal. That was a real crappy thing to do. To be denied a chance at getting a medal because of a default is just cruel and I feel bad for her. She didn't deserve that. She didn't even get the chance to say we tried but failed which would've been a much better feeling to return home with. |
