out of the active WTA players heres a list of the women who have made the semis or more (I know ace will say the stats from 5 years back dont count, but why take the credit away from them). Based ONLY on past results this is the list in order of the front runners at FO :

1) Kuznetsova - 1 win / 1 finals / 1 semis
2) Ivanocic - 1 win / 1 finals / 0 semis
3) Schiavone - 1 win / 1 finals / 0 semis
4) Clijsters - 0 win / 2 finals / 1 semis
5) Serena - 1 win / 0 finals / 0 semis
6) Li Na - 1 win / 0 finals / 0 semis
7) Stosur - 0 win / 1 finals / 1 semis
8 ) Jankovic - 0 win / 0 finals / 3 semis
9) Venus - 0 win / 1 finals / 0 semis
10) Sharapova - 0win / 0 finals / 2 semis
11) Petrova - 0win / 0 finals / 2 semis
12) Bartoli - 0win / 0 finals / 1 semis
13) Cibulkova - 0win / 0 finals / 1 semis

Of course this doesnt mean you cannot rule out Vika, Aga, Kvitova or anyone else

This Rome and French Open and Wimbledon and USO is for Serena. She will go undefeated for the rest of the year.

My heart wants Kvitova, but my mind says Maria.

Though it would be nice to see Sam take a second slam too. No more discussion about her being a 'fluke" slam winner...

In fact, is she reaches the final on thursday, that would be her third slam final. Winning one of them is no fluke anymore...

honestly speaking the draw has really helped everyone... .no one had to play big names... kvitova, stosur, sharapova, - neither has played a top15 player and now its the semis..... stosur will not even play a top15 in her semis.....

Red Clay ain't HC... so a ranking mainly based on HC and grass results, will never be representative for clay events...

Azaranka on clay is, imo, barely top 10. Players like Stosur, Kvitova, Errani, Kuznetsova, Goerges, Li, etc... are better on clay.

So it is normal she did not reach the QF...

That's why I didn't pick Azarenka in my Skan. Didn't think she would do much on clay. Of course, I didn't know what to expect from Kerber on clay, but I had to take someone lower seeded. Should have went with Errani given that she has been KILLING it on clay this year!
