Last time I watched her, she was heavier and shorter, spraying balls everywhere.

Well.....Gavrilova was doing the same today with less pep in her step. She does indeed look heavier and slower in addition to spraying; quite sloppy. Maybe, she's just going through a brief slump, coupled with some mental/confidence issues....... She's only 24 and still has time.

Update on Serena's withdrawal from the Roger's Cup. Per the attached article, Serena said she withdrew due to her mental funk and her self-opinion that she was not a good mother, in other words she was struggling with post-natal emotions or the term nowadays is "postpartum depression".

However, she was able to discuss this issue with her family and friends, discovered that it was a normal reaction to childbirth in the early stages after such and is coping as best she can. Having a support group like this is a sure-fire way of dealing with this issue, as I've read.

Garbine withdrew due to lingering arm injury. Monica Puig took her place.

@ Grossefavourite:
Yes, all R16 need to be played today
QF on friday
SF on saturday
F on sunday.

So those who could not finish their R32 yesterday, need to play twice.

The winner of Sabalenka vs Wozniacki, for example (1-0 in sets fir Woz), will play Mertens later today.

Venus and Halep meet each other today too.

@ Graveller:

I'd rather play the second match right away than wait hours and have to warm up again.

The scheduling seems to get worse each tournament. Last week Murray began a match at midnight.
It is hard on the players to have to play two matches in same day.
