This is so sexist. All 4 am Singles matches are WTA encounters.
As if the women were opening for men.

#ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl#Petra K. wins in 2 sets, bagel in the lst, 6-4 in the 2nd. Only saw snippets as my focus was on Svitolina v Kuzmova.#ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#/div#ed_cl##ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#/div#ed_cl##ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl#Naomi wins in 2 sets ere a packed court (as usual), but tighter score 6-4 7-5. Only saw snippets...#ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#/div#ed_cl##ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#/div#ed_cl##ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl#Elina dismisses Viktoria 6-3 6-4, expected loss but Viktoria got the experience she needs at the moment. Sloppiness contributed a lot to her loss, plus some untimely DFs at key moments in tiebreaks, which were 8 in toto. Viktoria was the dictator in this match with 29 winners to only 14 for Elina, #ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl#while Elina donated only 15 times, Elina never beating herself with sloppy errors. T#ed_op#/i#ed_cl#he 8 DFs and 41 donations by Viktoria was the difference. Yet, Viktoria broke Elina twice in the deciding 2nd set, only to give the break back in the next game. Had a 3rd chance to break Elina at 4-all, but hit a 2nd serve return into the net with her backhand. For me, netting 2nd serve returns is a cardinal sin. Took tons of deep breaths ere serving, nerves likely in playing such an important match for her at this moment in her career, but this will dissipate as she gains experience. Good experience for Viktoria, who I believe will be top-20 next year at this point.......Big-time talent. Worth the loss of sleep....... #ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#/div#ed_cl##ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#/div#ed_cl##ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl#Viktoria is now 78th in the rankings and her next event is the Ricoh Open in the Netherlands, where she is 5th alt for the maindraw. Hope they give her a wc to the maindraw, but that is not likely. #ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#

I saw the first set stats:
21 UE vs only 5 from Svitolina. (no way you win that set)
17 winners vs 6 (you erased all your winners with UE and DF)

If you spray, Svitolina beats you, as predicted.
Kuzmo has to get hold of the UEs, specially when playing someone that doesn't gift any.

#ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl#Quite a few players have won sets with high ufe counts versus low ufe counts of their opponent. The Sisters, Petra K. and Ostapenko are a few players who have won sets in such fashion, but they've also had high winner totals to offset the excessive gifts while winning or losing a set, for they can dictate winners to excess, just as Viktoria did today. It all boils down to the match in question and the particulars of such. In this instance it didn't work for Viktoria and it came down to a point here and there for game point, for there were 4 tiebreaks in the lst set. The match was competitive and Viktoria was able to dictate her game more often than not. As long as she's not recklessly gifting like Ostapenko is currently, I'm fine with her errors at the moment. She can grow out of that, as opposed to Ostapenko who is routinely gifting at near 30 for a set in any tourney she enters this year. #ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#/div#ed_cl##ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#/i#ed_cl##ed_op#/div#ed_cl##ed_op#div#ed_cl##ed_op#i#ed_cl#Good match currently between Madison and Dolehide. 6-4 Madison in the lst. I did not know that Delbonis became a woman :-) (his match also started at 11 am.... and there was another ATP match on C9 at 11 am....).

I think that - If all 11 am matches had been ATP, and went to 5 sets (and the final matches of the day - most WTA would have been postponed to tomorrow), some would have complained too.

There is always a stick to be found to hit someone.

there were only 2 men's matches starting at 11. I saw that yesterday.. All the rest were women warming up the courts.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#That's not right. Got to mix things. #ed_op#br#ed_cl#
