Viktoria and Andrea trading 6-2 scores. Viktoria lost focus in the 2nd, while Andrea upped her basic baseline game a tad. On serve Viktoria's service games went to tiebreaks, where she didn't prevail by netting returns. She's not wild, tho', just some unfortunate returns into the net, hardly forced. Lets see if she can right the ship and take this match, for she's the better player.

Andrea is running away with the 3rd set, up 4-1. Won the lst 2 games, then Viktoria broke, but couldn't hold. Andrea then holds.

Well....this match is over down 1-5. Couldn't hold serve, dfed twice up 40-30, then netted a basic return. Didn't expect this type of performance against such a basic player in Andrea.

Next tourney......

Just saw the result. Told you she doesn't win match that would land her directly in the top-100. Smile This got to be the 3rd or 4th time.

I think she will get there by default, when the other players' Madrid and French Open points come off.

17-year old Yastremska does what Kuzmova couldn't do. In the SF, she sends Petkovic packing 6-2 6-1. No contest !!!
Now facing Peterson in the Final. Yastremska should win this.
Since she lost the Girl's Wimbledon Final a few years ago playing attacking tennis, she's been off the radar.
This week, her wins are pretty impressive: defeated Parmentier, Teichman, Golubic and Petkovic.
The more power players, the merrier.
Well done !!!!

Yastremka was down 1-5 until she found her game. Climbed back to 4-5 with multiples deuces and game points. Broken on an Unforced Error. Then long Rain delay. So I left for some errands.
I get back online 3 hours later and the result is no good. She lost 4-6 5-7. Rain delay didn't help.
Too bad.
Next time, girl.

Kuzmova gets Ons Jabeur in the lst rd at the 100k in Slovakia. Not playing today, but will tune in time-permitting. Nice match-up..... Keeping up with my girl.

Jabeur showed she can only win matches at ITF level.
She got in the top-100 but couldn't win a single match at that level.. So back to ITF.
Message to Townsend: got to win WTA matches if you want to stay in the top-100. ITF can only help you get there.

Kuzmova dismissed Jabeur 6-1 6-2. Surprised by the lopsidedness of the score.

Kuzmova dismissed both Brengle and Larsson today to reach the semis. Gets the winner of Nara v Kate Alexandrova. She's now ranked 10lst. If she wins the event she vaults to the low 80's by rank. Coming along.....

However, she's also playing doubles and her team is still in the mix in the quarters. Maybe, she should withdraw from such and concentrate solely on singles.

Is she going to lose again? Sad Sad

@ Ace2Ace:

Alexandrova is her next opponent and that's a tough match. A night's rest will do, but she's also scheduled to play doubles today, 3 matches in a day with an important semi tomorrow........

@ rex:
Hope all that time spent on court will make her tougher.
But seriously, should have withdrawn from the Doubles once rain delay mixed up the schedule.

LIVE Ranking:
101 Kuzmova (age:19 --- Highest Ranking: 104)
102 Alexandrova (age:23 --- Highest Ranking: 69)

One of them will enter/re-enter the top-100 after this match.
Very interesting how things turned out.

Is Kuz' about to blow a 5-2 lead in the 3rd? She's having difficulty holding serve and was just broken to lead 5-4, Alex' on serve.
