Aussie Open Draw - LadiesWoz bageled CSN in the first set, but loses the second one in the TB... Onto set #3 in the middle of the night They must hate Nadal; he keeps them off the court for hours, only to retire in the fifth set "Never argue with an idiot - they take you down to their level and then beat you on experience" "Don't wrestle with a pig: you both get dirty, but the pig actually likes it"
Mertens ... one more shovel and you'll save WTA from the pushers dynasty that is taking root. "Kill it before they grow" Last edited by Ace2Ace on Jan Tue 23, 2018 1:33 pm, edited 1 time in total.
@ Ace2Ace: Won't happen. Woz will win. Quite a few of Mertens winners looked to be going out but nipped the line. With a bit more pressure, which Woz will provide, some of those shots will sail out. Last edited by Grossefavourite on Jan Tue 23, 2018 1:46 pm, edited 1 time in total. We'll see. This is Wozz's last match in Melbourne 2018. Today's Mertens is too good for the kind of game Wozz plays. Mertens is fearless, consistently inside the court looking to finish points. Her serves never lets her down, specially in crucial moment. She plays smart tennis. Doesn't retrieve and hide behind the baseline. If Jana Fett can have a 5-1 lead against Wozz, so can Mertens. And believe me, if Mertens is serving for the match, it's OVER!!!! She will not squander a 5-1 lead. She may give away the first break, but not the second. Keys should swat Kerber aside if Kerber plays as she did against Hsieh. Otherwise, Keys will self-destruct with errors. We know what Kerber is going to do: push and watch. So it's up to Keys. Lose quickly or win it clean. Last edited by Ace2Ace on Jan Tue 23, 2018 3:26 pm, edited 1 time in total.
