SERENA Retires?

Post by Grossefavourite » Dec Sun 17, 2017 1:51 pm

#ed_op#b#ed_cl#Serena Williams to hold a presser in Florida during the Australian Open#ed_op#/b#ed_cl##ed_op#p#ed_cl#It seemed that #ed_op#strong#ed_cl#Serena Williams#ed_op#/strong#ed_cl# intended to come back in#ed_op#br#ed_cl# time for the Australian Open trying to equal Margaret Court's 24 Grand #ed_op#br#ed_cl#Slam titles, but now she may have changed idea. The former World No. 1 #ed_op#br#ed_cl#will hold a press conference at Inside ETFs in Florida between 21 and 24#ed_op#br#ed_cl# January, when Australian Open's first week will already be completed.#ed_op#/p#ed_cl##ed_op#p#ed_cl#The event will also feature, among others, Mohamed El-Erian, Quincy #ed_op#br#ed_cl#Jones, Gen Stanley McCrystal. A few days ago Serena had posted a #ed_op#br#ed_cl#picture on Instagram featuring some gold shoes, and wrote: #ed_op#em#ed_cl#'Be excited, be very excited#ed_op#/em#ed_cl#'.#ed_op#/p#ed_cl##ed_op#p#ed_cl#In just a few weeks we will know her final decision, and we can expect anything. #ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#/p#ed_cl##ed_op#p#ed_cl#https://twitter.com/BenRothenberg/statu ... p#/p#ed_cl#

Note that those events are scheduled a year, 6 months ahead.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Serena could have given her consent, not sure if she would be ready for the Aussie Open or not.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#I am sure if she decides to play in Australia, she'll cancel her trip to California or give her speech through teleconference.#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#Anyway, I would be disappointed if she goes to Australia unprepared and loses in R2 to Giorgi or Sakkari. There is no need to travel that far to lose to Sharapova in R3. Better stay home and take care of things. This fan of hers would not mind at all.#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#Would be glad to see her start in Miami, go play Rome, French Open, Wimbledon, Cincinnati and close the year at the US Open. That's plenty enough.#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#She already got married, got a baby, so there is no rush to retire. She can play for another 3, 4 years. #ed_op#br#ed_cl#So Aussie Open or not, no big deal. She is always #1 in my book.
