YEC 2017 Draw and Results
Started watching again at *4-3 Venus in the third...#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Someone should have stopped me from doing so...#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#OK, there were a few super-returns from Venus in those 4 games, and a few really good rallies with amazing winner in the end, but 80% was/is pathetic.... Ostapenko has one of the worst 2nd serves in the Top100. I even like the one from Errani/Radwanska even more.... totally harmless 2nd serve... And if you have no first serve accuracy, you are a sitting duck vs Venus. bye Ostapenko, enjoy your last match on thursday and then the season is over. Pliskova had pressure: she knew she would be qualified for the SF if she won today. And she did win ... So Ostapenko is out, and the winner of the Garbine vs Venus match will be the second SF from this group. @ Graveller: By pressure, I mean that she's expected to win and if she does not she faces negative remarks. If she did not win, no one is going to press her with, "How come you lost?" Rather, it would be treated as just another match. Her losses don't make headlines; people aren't 'shocked.' As a two-time GS winner, clearly the pressure was greater on Garbine. Last edited by Grossefavourite on Oct Tue 24, 2017 12:10 pm, edited 5 times in total. |
