YES!!! Venus listened to me.. 7-5 6-4 and into the SF...

Well done... looking at the three known SF's (Venus, Pliskova, Wozniacki), you simply got to root for Venus.

So the two GS winners eliminated and both beaten by Venus. As I said, Venus is really the POY.

Laughing I had the same problem yesterday, I had to google both men and women champs.

Seriously Grosse? you forgot who won the US Open?
You forgot the most unlikely all-american final????

I guess that can happen when you are not interested in tennis as a sport, but only in individuals....

Ostapenko said: "It was my last match here today. I really tried to enjoy every moment. I think I was playing quite relaxed, and I just showed my best today."

She just needs a serve... Got to hire a coach for that special job.

Woz on a mission to bagel every oppoent at least once?

Serving for 5-0 in the first set vs Garcia...

Edit: and did it with a love game, ending with two aces...

And just like Ostapenko, Svitolina plays her best tennis when eliminated...

And the bonus is that she took revenge for her painful loss vs Halep at Roland Garros. Halep knocked out, and Garcia into the YEC SF...

Well, Ostapenko and svitolina can leave Singapore with a good feeling.

And Halep (temporarily?) ends with 3 weeks @ #1... (well , it is one week more than Goolagong)
Edit: correction; unless Pliskova wins the YEC, Halep remains #1... oh dear....
