I was pleased with the scheduling in Bejing (giving Wuhan SFs a lot of rest), but now I find it a bit chaotic:
Halep and Kasatkina played their R16 yesterday, don't have to play today, and will have matches for three days in a row in order to win (fri, sat, sun).
But others have 5 in a row (svitolina, Ostapenko form wednesday until sunday), and then there are some with 4 in a row (Kvitova, Woz)...
The differene between 3 or 5 in a row seems unfair.

Tennis-breakfast; nice thing for me during the Asian swing

Ostapenko with an early double break vs Peng: *3-0 up.

Grosse would say she plays all-or-nothing because she has nothing to lose. I say that it is her normal standard-game...

GSM... Peng withdraws... OK, her legs were taped, but did not see her movement being hampered that much; maybe because her winners were to high-quality and well-placed that it did not matter whether she ran or not...

Jelena does get an extra day of rest now :-)
Next for her Cirstea (should be a win for Jelena) and then a SF against either Halep (who can become #1 if she wins that - not gonna happen with Jelena on the other side) or against her nemesis Kasatkina...

Either you got it, or you don't. Now she had to put in more aggression and power into her game. And that can be improved at her age. It will be key to future success. Henin did it, and Svitolina is getting there too step by step (never will be a powerhouse like Ostapenko in her rallies, but a healthy mix of her talent with some power should to the trick).#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#If Kastkina (an Bencic) can inject their game with some power and aggression on a constant level, then the tour looks great for the next years:#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Garbine, Pliskova, Halep, Svitolina, Ostapenko, Kasatkina, Barty, Bencic (and later add Vondrousova and Anisimova)... A great mix of different styles but all with a Plan B up their sleeves (maybe not so much Pliskova)#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#

yes, I've been following that scheduling closely. I think it was designed to give Sharapova lost of rest to recuperate. Halep is taking advantage of it. Gott Sei Dank !!!#ed_op#span class="postbody"#ed_cl##ed_op#/span#ed_cl#
