Wow, that top-half is brutal, specially the 2nd Quarter. No one has a break. It's tough battle from the start. Barty vs Bellis should be a cracker. Gorgeous vs Gavrilova: Gorgeous on the attack; Gavrilova giving her one more shot: insane. Q.Wang vs Stephen: this is the girl that destroyed Sloane last time they met. It's time for revenge from the Grand Slam winner. Last edited by Ace2Ace on Sep Fri 22, 2017 11:03 am, edited 1 time in total. Re:Wuhan Maindraw#ed_op#i#ed_cl#Yeah, but a lot of good players can get to the 2nd round, which makes for an interesting event from that point on. So, the competition is pretty well spaced throughout to the point that I'm planning on losing sleep for this event due to certain match-ups I want to see, if it unfolds the way it appears from the draw. #ed_op#/i#ed_cl# (1) Muguruza v Tsurenko [Q]Linette v Siniakova (11) Kvitova v Peng] vs [Q] Puig [Q] Jabeur v Strycova] vs (8 ) Ostapenko (3) Ka.Pliskova v [Zhang v Vekic] Cirstea vs [Q.Wang v (14) Stephens (9) Radwanska v Rybarikova] vs [Goerges v Gavrilova Barty vs (5) Konta ---------- Bottom half ---------- (6) Kuznetsova v [Pavlyuchenkova v Cornet Bertens v [Q] Niculescu ] vs [Q] Lepchenko v (10) Keys (16) Vesnina v [Mertens v Osaka [Q] Sakari v (4) Wozniacki (7) Cibulkova v [Stosur v (wc) Teichmann [Q] McHale v [Garcia v (12) Kerber Makarova vs [ [Q] Petkovic v Davis Kasatkina v Riske] vs (2) Halep Re:Wuhan MaindrawWell.....this tourney quickly deteriorated.......Keys, Stephens and Osaka go to Beijing replaced by Wang, Lepchenko and Mertens..... What looked promising at the start by draw is turning into an international event..... Won't lose any sleep watching the rest of this....... Not everyone can deal with winning a slam. it actually shows that Ostapenko has been dealing pretty well with her Slam win... At least she reached Wimb QF right after that (and now won an international too when seeded #1 for the first time. Kasatkina into R2... against Halep now... (and I don't mind that belgian Mertens won against Osaka) "Never argue with an idiot - they take you down to their level and then beat you on experience" "Don't wrestle with a pig: you both get dirty, but the pig actually likes it"
@ Graveller: Now she won't be so arrogant and dismissive of the WS. She did not beat anyone this entire summer, if memory serves, that was ranked lower than she. Suddenly, she faces a lower ranked player and she folds. Last edited by Grossefavourite on Sep Mon 25, 2017 7:31 am, edited 3 times in total. And the R1 annihilation continues: Kerber OUT, Tokyo finalist Pavlyuchenkova OUT, Gavrilova OUT, Konta losing her first set 6-0...#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl# "Never argue with an idiot - they take you down to their level and then beat you on experience" "Don't wrestle with a pig: you both get dirty, but the pig actually likes it"
Konta served for the match; Barty broke en then never looked back in the TB... Great win for Barty; Konta loses her 4th match in a row. With a decent run, Ostapenko can virtually book her spot for Singapore this week. Kvitova in a battle with Peng too (been watching two matches at the same time). Had three SP in the first set TB (leading 6-3, serving twice) but Peng got that set. Petra now won Set 2 in the TB (after being 3-1 down at the start of the set). Final set just started (Petra got the early break 2-1) "Never argue with an idiot - they take you down to their level and then beat you on experience" "Don't wrestle with a pig: you both get dirty, but the pig actually likes it" |
