Update: Apparently he ended his 2017 season; won't play anymore this year.

Good move: if you have an injury that bothers you for more than a year, then the wise thing is to give it all the time it needs to heal.

He goes for the Federer-approach who did the same (with great results in the end).

RG'16 sealed his fate with this injury. It was worth the price I would say.

As things are going now, Federer could be the last one of the Big4 to retire :-)

USO17 could be ripe for a breakthrough, perhaps Zverev. Unfortunately, I think the most likely scenario is Rojay winning #20, Rafa's determination to expel his W16 demons notwithstanding.
