Re:French Open Skan!!!@ Ace2Ace: Thanks.....However, why is it not linked under the year 2017, per the Year Round link? Re, never been thrilled with the Skan Contest, but the picks this year for both the men and women are going to be difficult for the participants. With the women's game in total flux, lacking Serena, Petra and Vika, the top-10 of no major significance, save for a player or 2, if that, and the men's game in almost the same predicament with Roger out, Novak and Andy becoming suspect of late, it'll be interesting to see how these teams are formulated from those that elect to participate. I was going to go with 3 youngsters, but they've all been bombing in premier 5's and mandatories this year and I don't much care for the top-10. So, my team is likely to finish near the bottom for Paris. Last edited by rex on May Mon 22, 2017 4:29 pm, edited 1 time in total. Re:French Open Skan!!!@ rex: Oh I see what you mean. Completed Skans will not be listed in the year round page until a commish clicks on "Archive" from the Admin page. Only archived contests are listed. Once a Skan has been archived, it cannot be modified. Any scoring errors will remain permanent... That' is why we don't archive Skan the day it's completed. We give the Commish time to review the scores and correct them if needed. I just archived the Aussie Open.. so now it's in the Year round list. I agree with Rex that making a team will be tough... i also aim for a bottom tier with Gavrilova, Bertens, Thiem and Zverev provisionally. Could change with the draw. The current injury issues stopped me from picking Goffin and Kasatkina. And Players like Svitolina and Mladenovic are also options... Halep and Nadal are my only top10 picks. That is for sure... "Never argue with an idiot - they take you down to their level and then beat you on experience" "Don't wrestle with a pig: you both get dirty, but the pig actually likes it" I like the idea of picking A.Zeverev, the guy that just beat djokovic.. That's all I know for ATP. For WTA, yup, it's a nightmare. But Gavrilova? heck no... That's a R1 exit. She is my girl but it has become more for fun... Balls bounce too high. That is how you win clay events as so many struggle to deal with high balks. And on grass they balls are supposed to stay low.. "Never argue with an idiot - they take you down to their level and then beat you on experience" "Don't wrestle with a pig: you both get dirty, but the pig actually likes it" Oh I see. In that case, Aiava and Lucic-Baroni are out. early... hello Wimbledon. Last edited by Ace2Ace on May Mon 22, 2017 4:11 pm, edited 1 time in total. |
