Serena posted hers on her site....
Sydney AO Paris [Indoors] Dubai Miami Marbella Charleston Madrid Roland Garros Wimbledon Istanbul Cincinnati Toronto US Open Tokyo Beijing YEC
LMAO.. who does she think she's kidding? Marbella? Istanbul? NO Rome? NO Stanford? Whaaaaat? Yeah right like she's gonna follow this schedule... they're gonna need to give her a nice fat $1,000,000 check if they want her to even think about going to Istanbul in the middle of July. Sorry, but.. not gonna happen.
I'd much rather she get Marbella/Charleston (preferably Charleston) off her schedule and add in Rome. But I guess Rome will be the one Premier 5 she'll be skipping this year . . .

| I saw this today and I thought about posting it here because you said that she wouldnt do it again lol. Miami, Marbella, and Charleston lol... 4 weeks in a row. I would much rather see her play in Charleston instead of Marbella. Charleston is going to have bigger names. I think Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka as of now. She needs to play those players and beat them on Clay to gain confidence. I would much rather her skip Marbella and Charleston and play Rome and Madrid because she needs more matches on the red clay. I see her being hurt again and pulling out of Charleston lol. |

She won't do it.. she'll withdraw from one of them. I hope she skips Charleston... the green clay never does anything for her. She needs as much time on the red clay as possible, and I think Marbella would be a good way for her to ease into the clay season. She hasn't even made the semis of a red clay event in like 5+ years now (Quarterena ), so she needs as much practice on it as she can get. Facing the likes of Jankovic + the Spaniards on red clay will be a lot more useful for her than playing Sharapova/Wozniacki/Venus/Azarenka on green clay IMO.
Whatever.. if she stays in excellent shape maybe she'll play them both, so it depends on how she feels after Miami. If she makes it through Miami and still feels fine, then she'll go to Marbella... and if she's still feeling fine after that, then *maybe* she'll play Charleston. It's definitely possible (Miami ends that Saturday, probably a Tuesday start in Marbella... Marbella ends Sunday.. then she probably wouldn't start Charleston until Wednesday cause she would have a bye).. but she needs to stay in tip-top shape. It's 16 matches (at most) in about 25 days. She has a full month off between Dubai - Miami and another month off between Charleston - Madrid, so it really isn't THAT bad if you look at the big picture. If she stays in the shape she's in right now, physically I think she could handle it.. so let's hope she'll still be this fit in another 2-3 months. The less weight she has on that knee, the better! That's why her legs basically fell apart during the clay season last year... cause she blew up like a blimp between Dubai and Miami. If she really wants to play those 3 events in a row, she can't afford to slack off on her fitness again before Miami.

Serena took Paris Indoors off her schedule. She hasn't officially withdrawn (probably so they can keep marketing her for tickets), but it's now off her schedule.
And I'd expect Safina to withdraw from Dubai too.. but she hasn't done so yet.
But here's the upcoming schedule for the top 20 players...
Serena WILLIAMS - Paris [Indoors], Dubai Dinara SAFINA - Dubai Svetlana KUZNETSOVA - Dubai Caroline WOZNIACKI - Dubai Elena DEMENTIEVA - Paris [Indoors], Dubai, Kuala Lumpur Venus WILLIAMS - Dubai, Acapulco Victoria AZARENKA - Dubai Jelena JANKOVIC - Dubai Vera ZVONAREVA - Pattaya City, Dubai Agnieszka RADWANSKA - Dubai Marion BARTOLI - Dubai Flavia PENNETTA - Acapulco Samantha STOSUR - Dubai Maria SHARAPOVA - Memphis Kim CLIJSTERS - N/A Yanina WICKMAYER - Paris [Indoors], Dubai Na LI - Dubai, Kuala Lumpur Francesca SCHIAVONE - Paris [Indoors], Dubai Nadia PETROVA - Dubai Virginie RAZZANO - Paris [Indoors], Dubai

I believe DUBAI is now one of the five Premier Gold events where top 10 players have to play atleast four (the others being Rome, Cincinnati, Toronto/Montreal and Tokyo) throughout the year.
Footsoldier? lol. |

Footsoldier? lol. |
Yup. And all of the top players love playing there because of the shopping and how the tournament pampers them. I remember Na Li tanked her 1R there a few years ago and admitted afterwards that she only went there to shop. That's probably why there are so many upsets there every year.
