What's going on? No time being offered for the start, just 'delayed.'

Ok, never mind. They're out now warming up.

If Ree gets by Julia, I've gotta pick Kerber to hoist the trophy because she's in way better shape and is playing very well.

The 1997-generation destroyed by Kerber in this event:
R32: vs Osaka
R16: vs Bencic
QF: vs Kasatkina
SF: vs Ostapenko

Congrats, Ree, but you'll have to play way better on Saturday to stymie Kerber.

Julia seemed to have had nice words at the net for Ree.

If I read Julia's lips correctly, she said, "Go for it!" Strange, seeing how her compatriot Kerber is in the final. I wonder if there's bad blood with Kerber.

So Cibby, did Serena deserve the seeding?

Congratulation to the Princess of Wakanda.
Please, ESPN, keep that Replay tape warm. I'll enjoy it tonight. Couldn't even follow the scoreboard. Glad it's over.
Now, let's send Kerber to Russia to watch some World Cup. Smile Smile

"It's crazy. I don't even know how to feel because I literally didn't think I'd do this well in my fourth tournament back," said Williams.

This struck me as Serena's best performance by far. If she plays as well on Saturday I expect her to win. Ostapenko had no variety to her game, and still Kerber was scrambling all over the place to keep balls in play until Ostapenko misfired. That seems to be Kerber's only weapon. If she can't generate winners against Ostapenko, how will she do so against Serena? The only was Kerber wins is if Serena gifts it to her. Kerber can't win it outright, but will hoist the dish if Serena loses it.

@ PeterSkan:

Hey Peter, hope you are well.  I agree 100%.  I remember watching Serena when she played Angelique in the 2016 AO and getting so frustrated.  Angelique keep guess, quite properly, when Serena was at the net and would hit passing shot after passing shot.  She won't have the same reaction time on grass.  However, Angelique looks to be in the best shape of her career.  Serena's to lose.

Let's go for #24 at the USO.
Every time Serena is about to match a record, it's delayed. Girl go to get hold of those nerves..
This happened before she got #18 and also at #22.
Will USO be the one?
