OOP comes courtesy via a "News Feed" at the RG website, not linked with the draws and the scores at the RG18 link. Tourney is starting off on the wrong foot.

Further, dismayed that Petra M. and Yafan Wang is lst up at 11 a.m. Paree,
which means a 4 a.m. start here in the Midwest. With ESPN not broadcasting the French (Tennis Channel), there's no chance for replay....blah.

when have you ever not selected Venus or Serena to lose their first matches no matter who their opponents are?#ed_op#br#ed_cl#This is like saying every day: it's going to rain tomorrow.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Nothing accomplished here.

Defending her title as the undisputed queen of the first rounder imho was a great accomplishment.😁

Good win for Viktoria over Schi' in a well-played, tho' tight match that went into 2 set breakers, each of the breakers Viktoria was decisively effective. This young talent has game, dropped Schi' for at least 6 points, most coming in the very tight 2nd set at 6-5 Schi', showing what depth of game this talent has. Breathing heavily tho', likely emotions off the charts for her in the lst round of this Slam. Yet, came through for a 2nd round match with Elina. Looking forward to it and will be watching regardless of time.....

Venus was dismissed. Watched some of it and realized that Venus was up against it, for Q's pace on her groundstrokes was far greater than Venus at age 38, nothing Venus could do about it but hope Q would gift. Appears Mother Time has caught up with Venus at this point. US hardcourts will tell in a few months......

Kuzmova, what a brave young woman!!!!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Schiavone is hard to play on this surface. Her shot selections, ball bounce and placement were simply too good. It was not easy putting her away.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Congratulation to Kuzmova. Well done.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Now do your best against Svitolina. You are not supposed to beat her so just relax and have fun. It's a tough match-up.

Francesca is hard to play on any surface, such is the depth, variety and craftiness Schi' possesses even at age 38. A shame the French did not give her a main draw WC, while wasting one on a pure scrub, like Amandine Hesse, who thinks she has talent. Never have I seen a player with a more than overinflated sense of her game than this scrub. Taylor played her at the '16 French and "dominated", 6-2 6-1. Today, she ate 2 loaves of bread, baked with wheat gluten and served by Brady. Shame on the French for dissing Schi', who won a title there......
