Women French Open QualifiersRe:Women French Open QualifiersDestanee loses in 3, a match she should've won in 2, for she won the lst set 6-2, up 3-1 in the 2nd "on serve", dominating the match, then proceeded to lose the set, subsequently the 3rd for no reason at all, save for sending her ground game into the net and overhitting, for Liu wasn't hurting her with her game. Watched this nonsense this morning and I still can't believe it. She's gotten herself into shape, lost that Buddha torso and the blonde hair, which is a good thing and is the lst time seeing her since the AO. Now that she's age 18 she's off tourney restrictions, but this is not how one celebrates by losing a match that she was clearly in control of. Yet, it is what it is....... Match stats: Destanee.....7 aces, offset by 6 DFs, 39 winners, offset by 45 gifts to 3, 19 and 25, respectively, for Liu. Errors did Destanee in but they were hardly forced. Her attitude on court is bad. She acts like her opponent shouldn't hit the balls. She throws racquet when she misses.. always angry at something.. Doesn't care. When she loses a couple of points in a row, she just wants to get out of there and go home .... I was watching one her matches a few months ago. She comfortably won the first set and was up a break in the second set. Then she hit 2 DF in a row... Got upset and started hitting as if she was drunk. She started trowing racquet and was completely uncontrollable.. She lost the set.. and the next one, just spraying. I couldn't believe it. Yet, in your description of a match you had watched of hers earlier, it was somewhat similar this morning. She was in such control after the lst set, up 3-1 in the 2nd "on serve", I began to feel somewhat sorry for Liu, for she was being frustrated by Destanee's total domination of the match. Then, out-of-nowhere Destanee begins missing for whatever reason, then to eventually lose the match. You had to watch it to see the total reversal of what she had done earlier, totally unexpected and inexplicable. Can't tell you why she lost, just missing, hitting balls into the net on weak returns. No OCC at the Slams, but maybe Destanee needed to have her hand held as the coach would tell her to relax, for Liu wasn't a serious threat. A lot of these OCCs are nothing but pep talks anyway, so it may have helped Destanee this morning. Disappointing to see her lose the way she did after being in total control for a set and a half. These girls today, you just don't know what you're going to get on game day or during play.......<img src="/board/richedit/smileys/Sad/18.gif"> Clearly a lost opportunity for Destanee to get major ranking points at a Slam, where the points earned are greater on the Tour. She needed same to boost her from the 190's and get herself into the mix.
