Another domination ends.
Meldonia, Meldonia, Meldonium: where have you gone?

Without Meldonium, Sharapova is just another mid-tier player bound to lose to also-rans like Bertens.

This is the sad reality for her and her camp.

Time to put the asterisk beside her titles, won by a cheater.

2018 = the year of Maria's Mediocrity.
go firmly to the window
and listen with deep emotion,
but not with the whining, the pleas of the coward;
listen-your final pleasure-to the voices,
to the exquisite music of that strange procession

Kvitova schools the youngster Kasatkina 6-4 6-0.
I only watched 1 matched LIVE today before heading to work (Pliskova vs Halep). I have only seen a few highlights here and there. It's nice to see power players dominate again. Austrlian Open was bad with pushers everywhere.

The way Pliskova played in Stuttgart made me believe she would beat Halep today.
Pliskova's ground game has improved, specially the forehand cross-court. She doesn't hit it, just a little spin to place it in when she is out of position. In the past, she'd go for bombs and miss by 1000 miles. :) :)

Halep's advantage over her was the ground strokes. Pliskova erased it and Halep had no other option. Pliskova's serve and returns are better. It makes sense she prevailed.
Sorry darling Halep, got to add something new to your game if you want to beat Pliskova from now on. Maybe try adding drop shots and lobs to your arsenal. Beautiful ground strokes side to side won't do it against this girl you used to eat for breakfast.

I think Pliskova will do well in Paris.
Wouldn't be something if she could win the Stuttgart-Madrid combo from nowhere?
