Looked at her ranking breakdown: Apart from Charleston (that she won), Kasatkina has no points to defend up to Roland Garros. So if she could win here today, she already covers the Charleston-points. It would put her at #17, so if 1 player from the top16 withdraws, she would get an easier R3 in IW and Miami. She enters the top20 for the first time next week anyway 😀. A slow but steady rise over the last two years. No overrated jump like Stephens or Bouchard because of a deep run in a slam. A final between two fave's is always a bit weird, but at least you like he winner Both now can rest for two week before playing R2 of IW.... Hoping to see both having a deep run there too.
