So after preparing the WTA monthly overview last week, I now found some time to spend on ATP
Most of what I write here in the first post, is repetition of the WTA thread (and the ATP overview thread of 2017), but some refreshing of the concepts is never a bad thing (especially for newcomers to the PGame)

My planned overviews are:
* End of January
* End of march (post-Miami)
* The Clay-overview (post RG)
* The grass-overview (post-Wimbledon)
* The US-HC overview (post US Open
* The Asian overview (End of season)

This overview will also give the top10 of the rolling ranking. The complete ranking can be found at  another place  on e website, together with the Hall of Fame of each event (presenting all winners of the past for each tournament, going back to 2009. Yes, the ATP game started its 10th year).

What is included in the rolling ranking?

All slams (4)
All ATP1000 events + Masters (10)
Your best 7 ATP500 events of the last 52 weeks (7)
Your best 9 ATP250 of the last 52 weeks (9)

The structure of each PGame is the same: you make predictions for each match in R16, QF, SF and F... Per round you can earn 8 points, but for ATP1000, we double this (16), and for the slams it is doubled again (32pt per round in slams).
This makes it interesting until the very end... a correct winner in R16 of a slam gives you 4 points, a correct winner in the final 32 points! And doing well in a slam will have a bigger impact on your ranking than doing well in an International - just like in real life...

On top of that, there are R32 for the slams and the ATP1000 events. So more points can be won, and we get involved in an earlier stage  Smile

Earning a "default" value for every event: the default score is equal to the lowest score obtained by an active participant in the first round of predictions.
So if you miss a (mandatory) event, you do get some points anyway. In order to get those points, you need to have entered 3 events actively over the last 52 weeks. Once you entered 3 events, you receive the default score for each event of the last 52 wks (retro-active scoring) - from that point onwards, you start to "defend" points (or try to improve your set of best ATP250/ATP500).

Good luck to all in 2018!!!

JANUARY 2018

We played seven events this month: 4International events, 2 Premiers, and 1 Slam.
And here are the winners:

ACE2ACE: Winner of ATP250 Auckland, ATO250 Sydney
Titles won in 2018: 2
Career Titles: 24
Ranking in all-time titles standings: #7
Additional Note: Ace2Ace won in 2018 already the same amount of titles than in 2016 and 2017 combined (one each year Smile )

GRAVELLER: Winner of ATP250 Pune
Titles won in 2018: 1
Career Titles: 63
Ranking in all-time titles standings: #3

PYOTR: Winner of ATP250 Brisbane, ATP250 Doha
Titles won in 2018: 2
Career Titles: 8
Ranking in all-time titles standings: #13
Additional Note: Highest amount of ATP titles won in a single year by Pyotr was 2 (in 2012 and 2017); so he already matched that achievement in 2018

WANNADOO75: Winner of the Australian Open (Slam)
Titles won in 2018: 1
Career Titles: 106
Ranking in all-time titles standings: #1
Additional Note: : Wannadoo75 won his 8th ATP Slam (his second Australian Open; first one was in 2016)

Events foreseen for February & March:
- ATP250 Montpellier (2017-winner: Graveller; going for his 4th title in this event)
- ATP250 Quito (2016-winner: Jeff in Texas; event was not played in 2017)
- ATP250 Sofia (2017-winner: Graveller)
- ATP500 Rotterdam (2017-winner: Rex; going for his 4th title in this event)
- ATP250 Memphis (2017-winner: Rex)
- ATP250 Buenos Aires (2017-winner: Graveller)
- ATP500 Rio (2017-winner: Pingpong0)
- ATP250 Marseille (2017-winner: Pyotr)
- ATP500 Dubai (2017-winner: Graveller)
- ATP500 Acapulco (2017-winner: Pingpong0)
- ATP1000 Indian Wells (2017-winner: 93tennisroyalty)
- ATP1000 Miami (2017-winner: Wannadoo75; he is going to try and win this for the SEVENTH TIME!!! previous wins in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017)

Graveller got four titles to defend, and Pingpong0 and Rex got two. But the two biggest ones in the coming months (ATP1000's) were won in 2017 by 93tennisroyalty and Wannadoo75.
