Can't see Rafa pulling out after seeing a draw like this. He's gotta take his chances.

Interesting 1st Round Matches
Lopez-Querrey
Berdych-De Minaur
Tiafoe-DelPo
Chung-Zverev
Medvedev-Kokkinakis
Verdasco-Bautista Agut
Anderson-Edmund
Sock-Sugita
Rublev-Ferrer
Tsitsipas-Shapovalov

Section 1
- Normally this would be a very good section for Rafa but who knows how he'll play. Otherwise, it's very open.

Section 2
- Very open section
- Cilic has the most game here

Section 3
- Tough section with Kyrgios, Dimitrov, Ferrer, Rublev, Tsonga, and Shapovalov.
- Not sure, but Nick is in good form. R4 with Grigor would be entertaining.

Section 4
- Good section, pretty open
- I like Anderson here. Not sure what form Pouille will be in. Sock seems not as fit and ready for a deep major run (could lose early).

Section 5
- Very open with an uncertain Stan and Domi who isn't in any particularly good form.

Section 6
- Interesting section
- Watch out for Gael, he takes out Novak for me in R2. Chung is also dangerous if he gets hot.
- I think Sascha Zverev will come through

Section 7
- Decent section, not too deep.
- Seems to be between DelPo and Goffin but Fognini is playing well and Berdych is a tough customer
- Who knows what De Minaur will do? I'm still surprised he's winning so many matches against very experienced guys without a big game

Section 8
- Fed has a good section
- Hopefully Milos can make R4

@ 93tennisroyalty:

Gael can't beat Novak with a stick.

Under normal circumstances, no, but I think he has a chance given how confident he may be feeling after Doha and Novak's lack of match play. This may be the time

Novak just beat Thiem pretty comprehensively though. Ominous.

In a match that doesn't mean anything. He's yet to put himself back in the best of 5 sets, grand slam arena. We can agree to disagree, we'll see the result for ourselves.

Under normal circs, yes, it meant nothing, but not when Novak and Thiem are struggling for form right before a GS.

No#20 for Rojay? No. Cilic will stop him this time.
