On your marks...
Get set....
GO!!!!

Yes, the off-season has come to an end, and the first ATP and WTA main draws have just been released.
Six events, and all of them host at least one Top10 player. So to keep everyone busy, we play them all Smile

for new players (who are interested to compete for eternal glory):
Optional predictions before the start of the FIRST R1 match are the uWP and fmKO
uWP: ultimate Winner pick: you say upfront who will win the event. If that player does win, you get double points for the final (but if that players does not reach the final, you can only win 50% of the points for a correct final prediction). Oh, you MUST predict a win for your uWP in the final if he/she gets into the Final: picking the opponent results in zero points (even id that player does win).
fmKO: you pick the top10 player that is most likely to lose in their first match (R1 or R2 in case of a R1-bye). No penalties involved, only points to be won... and you get more for picking players ranked 1-4 than for players ranked 5-10....

Otherwise just predict the different matches throughout the event. You can alter predictions as often as you can - as long as no match in that round has started. once a round has started, predictions cannot be changed.

ps: sometimes the Commish cannot "close" a round in time (i.e. it is still 'open' for predictions even if matches in that round are underway or already played - we do sleep/work sometimes), but due to the timestamp to submitted predictions, we can see when last changes were made. So please do not cheat: it is only a game, and the next event is always less than a week away.... Late submissions will be set to zero!

Points to be earned per match (correct winner; points are doubled is the score is correct too):

International, Premier, ATP250, ATP500:
R16: 1 pt /match
QF: 2 pt /match
SF: 4 pt / match
F: 8 points

P5, P.Mand. ATP1000 (extra round !):
R32: 1 pt / match
R16: 2 pt /match
QF: 4 pt /match
SF: 8 pt / match
F: 16 points

Slams:
R32: 2 pt / match
R16: 4 pt /match
QF: 8 pt /match
SF: 16 pt / match
F: 32 points

So major events will have bigger impact on your Year-end ranking!

Events in WK1, and the title defenders:

WTA Auckland - Title defender is Graveller
WTA Brisbane - Title defender is Pyotr
WTA Shenzhen - Title defender is Mytiwtiw

ATP Brisbane - Title defender is Pingpong0
ATP Doha - Title defender is 93tennisroyalty   (draw not yet released at this point in time, so game not yet started)
ATP Pune - new event

ps: there is also the Drive-2-Final Game: predict all QFs, SFs and F before the start of R16... no more changes possible when R16 is underway... easy game, 2 minutes of time.....

@ Ace2Ace:

LOL, you can do it!!!
Just initiated ATP Doha too, so that are three potential titles...

First weeks have so many upsets, that winning one feels random (for me at least - I am terrible in january).

So far 12 participants in the games... not a bad start.
And not everyone was in right from the start, but most events had no successful fmKO (apart from those picking Muguruza and Ostapenko).

Themo is back (again Smile ), and two new names thzt entered some scores: jdg0828 and Padawan.

As both entered all WTA events (and jdg0828 also the ATP events), they will both meet the requirements of entering three events in the last 52 weeks, they are automatically awarded default scores for all events that were played over the last 52 weeks.
And therefore also included in the rolling ranking.

Hope to see these newcomers play the Games on a regular basis Smile New names in the list of winners are always appreciated (but you will have to earn it Smile )

Update: two other newbies in the Game: Perdida and Leo....

Cannot remember a week where we had 4 new names in the Games (my memories only go back until 2011, so cannot speak for the first 10 years...)

Both QF AND SF played on friday in Auckland.
So there is little time to predict SF if you want to wait for the QF results!!

Be safe and enter provisional SF scores!
That is how I will have to do it, as I will be asleep in Europe while it all happens over there.

Whoohoo, mission accomplished!! Got a WTA title in January!! My first Premier-title in this month.
Well, that puts away any pressure for the rest of the year; thank you, Svitolina.
(Winning one event is my first goalpost)

The other 5 titles for this weekend will be for others: got a bunch of wrong UWPs so would need miracles.

Just noticed that everyone picked Halep over Sniakova! If I had know that, i would have altered my score and could have won with a Siniakova-win. But I was literalky seconds too late (it was 40-30 in the first game).

Oh well, Halep is leading 4-1 so probably a good thing.
And a higher score is better for my rolling ranking (and my attempt to go for #1 this year)
