Mass shooting in Vegas: Laura Robson is OK

Post by Graveller » Oct Mon 02, 2017 7:32 am

She apparently attended the Las Vegas music festival that was targeted by a local shooter. But she remained unharmed.#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#

only police and the military should have guns.
What's this stupid idea that people should be allowed to buy military assault weapons. To do what? Are we all allowed to have nuclear weapons if we can afford them?

i guess gun policy was not important for voters last year... both candidates had a different view on assault weapons.

Then again, all idiots already have their guns for years. Too late to curb this kind of threat.

The NRA always say that people should be able to buy guns to defend themselves...
Estimates are that 32-38% of americans own a gun.

On average, 14000 people at that festival own a gun (probably more, given the liberal gun laws in Nevada). NONE was able to defend themselves.
Not a SINGLE mass shooter was ever stopped by a civilian who bought a gun. The gun laws only helped the shooters.

If you assume that only 0.01% of people have mental issues, then you have 25000 potential shooters...

Sorry but Hillary was not going to do anything about guns. She and her husband were in the White House for 8 years. Then she moved to the Senate for more years. All she did is collect money from the Saudis, kill Kadhafi to send Lybia 100 years back,... and get rich. Can't stand the woman. Can't believe I used to like her.

They talk about guns to get votes. But in the end, they are collecting money from the gun lobbies so nothing gets done about those weapons.
The idea of criminal background check is silly. The guy who just murdered all those people had no criminal background nor was he mentally ill.
You've got to ban the military assault weapon. The rest is just empty talk.

All I know was a republican majority in the house to block Bill all the time (from 1994 until the end of his presidency)

I love it when Americans give a democratic president some republican houses (or vice versa) and then complain that they did not keep their promises.

If American society wants their president to deliver, then at least give him a workable house/senate...
America failed Bill and Barack by taking that opportunity away.

That's a bunch HW. At some point, the Democrats had the White House, the HR and the Senate.
That also has happened under Republican president.
And every time, nothing got done. They ended up fighting their own presidents because all of them take money from the gun lobby.

Well, at least Trump is not a hypocrite and keeps his promises that he made in his campaign: he was never gonna touch on the right of americans to own a gun. And now he even revoked the proposal that would ban mentally ill people from buying a gun.

So I count on Trump to keep his promise: no bans on gun sales! And all those nutcases have now seen what can be done with those (semi)automatics that can be bought very easily in States like Nevada.

It's not the mentally ill or the so called 'nut cases' that commit those murders.. It's people that are called "law abiding citizens", like this guy in Las Vegas.
Everyone is a law abiding citizen until he/she commits the unthinkable.

" ...
...
The gunman's brother, Eric Paddock, said he was stunned to learn Stephen was responsible for the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
"We're still just completely befuddled. Dumbstruck," Eric Paddock said outside his home in Orlando, Florida.
He described his brother, a retired accountant, as "a wealthy guy. He liked to play video poker. He went on cruises."
