Playing the No.1 player in an empty stadium all the way in China made it easy for her to go for broke, and she did, aided and abetted by Garbine's injury. Jelena is ok as a player. And just looking at her, I feel she's one emotional episode away from an eating binge and gaining 50 lbs.

This tennis fan disagrees!

These types of unacceptable losses are exactly the reason as to why I just cannot seem to enjoy watching women's tennis matches these day's because Ostapenko clearly should've wiped up with Barty's bottom backside all over the tennis court. However, It's become ever so apparent that the better player doesn't always win whenever they're playing.

There will always be young players maturing, while the older ones are taking long exits.
It's part of the process. People forget that once, the Williams and the Azarenkas were young and fearless.

@ Grossefavourite:

Why would I care what this guy says or thinks?
I have a brain and I have 30+ years of experience of seeing tennis. I don't need 'an opinion'. I use my own eyes and make my own conclusions.

Garcia served twice for the first set.. lost it in TB.
Barty serves twice for the 2nd set... loses it in TB.
Neither of the 2 can serve today. The 3rd set is going to be another break fiesta. You break me, I break you. You break me, I break you ... and let's see who gonna win this bad match.

Congratulation, Garcia...
This was a painful match where neither of you could hold serve.
But nice win.
Barty did well serving hot bagels to the top players.
