2017 WTA PGame Rank update#ed_op#span class="postbody"#ed_cl##ed_op#span class="postbody"#ed_cl##ed_op#span class="postbody"#ed_cl#From this year onwards, I will provide a monthly overview of the results in the WTA Prediction Game. #ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#This overview will also give the top10 of the rolling ranking. The complete ranking can be found on the website, together with the Hall of Fame of each event (presenting all winners of the past for each tournament, going back to 2002!).#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#What is the rolling ranking? The rolling ranking takes into account the PGame results of last 52 weeks, but not all events are included: in most years only 30 events are included:#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#All slams + YEC (5)#ed_op#br#ed_cl#All Prem.Mand events (4)#ed_op#br#ed_cl#All Prem.5 events (5)#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Best 7 Premier events of the last 52 weeks (7)#ed_op#br#ed_cl#Best 9 International events of the last 52 weeks (9)#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#b#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#/b#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#The structure of each PGame is the same: you make predictions for each match in R16, QF, SF and F... Per round you can earn 8 points, but for Prem.5 and Prem Mand, we double this (16), and for the slams/YEC, it is doubled again (32pt per round in slams/YEC).#ed_op#br#ed_cl#This makes it interesting until the very end... a correct winner in R16 of a slam gives you 4 points, a correct winner in the final 32 points! And doing well in a slam will have a bigger impact on your ranking than doing well in an International - just like in real life...#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#One "new" addition in 2017: we added a R32 for the slams and the major Premier events. So more points can be won #ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl# #ed_op#br#ed_cl#It should be noted that there is a "default" value for every event - this score is equal to the lowest score obtained by an active participant. So if you miss a (mandatory) event, you do get some points anyway and remain competitive in the ranking. In order to get those points, you need to have entered 3 events actively over the last 52 weeks. Once you entered 3 events, you receive the default score for each event of the last 52 wks (retro-active scoring) - from that point onwards, you start to "defend" points (or try to improve your set of best Premiers/Internationals).#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#Good luck to all in 2017!!! #ed_op#/span#ed_cl##ed_op#/span#ed_cl##ed_op#/span#ed_cl# Last edited by Graveller on Feb Mon 27, 2017 3:04 am, edited 2 times in total. Wannadoo75 could join too if he wins Wimbledon in 5 weeks time.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#2) Graveller won Madrid; the only Prem.Mand missing on his resume.
