SERENA'S Injury Report
Meldo was widespread on the tour. WADA confirmed that quite a few players, primarily Russians, did test positive for it before it was banned, which is why they banned it. Pova messed up. Someone had tipped off WADA so they secretly tested for it... Last edited by Grossefavourite on Jun Fri 08, 2018 9:44 am, edited 1 time in total. @ Grossefavourite:
No they didn't secretly test for it. lol lol lol. After they received the tip from a Russian athlete, they made a public announcement that they would monitor it for a full year (2015). Which means it would be banned if the monitoring reveals that it's a PED. Many cheaters stopped using it a that point because they knew what it was. Some of them started dropping in the ranking, very badly. Following the year of monitoring, they notified everyone that it was banned as of January 2016. Nothing was done in secret. @ Ace2Ace: They did. Google it. WADA confirmed they responded to a tip that Meldo was being used by Russian tennis players in particular and then, as they always do with learning about a new drug, secretly test for it and then decide to ban it or not. They know who was using it before it was banned. Maria 'missed' the memo.
