I thought Osaka was down and out but she pulled a Vika from her match against Serena. LOL. Vika served a healthy dose of her own medicine.

Great win for Naomi and tennis: enyojed both finals (ATP and WTA), and in both cases, my fave won the title.
So no complaining from me :-).
Naomi now an established top player, proving that she is not a one-peak player by winning a 3rd slam, two years after winning her first two.

Also another achievement for Belgian Wim Fissette. Osaka is the 3rd player that he coached to a slam win (Cloisters and Kerber were the other ones). and it could have been more as he also was coach of Lisici and Halep when they got to a slam final.
Less success with Konta and Azarenka, though the latter collaboration was ended when Vika got pregnant.

And Thiem: so glad he won a slam ; even better that is was against Zverev :-)
Now time for him to face Nadal in Paris in a 3rd final there, and win it this time.

Disgusted that Thiem won but I was in a lose-lose situation because I didn't want Alex 'Meldonium' Zverev to win either.
