USO Day 1, 8/31/20
Re: USO Day 1, 8/31/20Hello fellow tennis fanatics. Hope everyone is safe and well considering the circumstances. Normally I would be at the US Open this time of year enjoying the first 3 days of the tournament but alas I am home watching empty stadiums. A US Open without noise and boisterous fans is like Wimbledon without strawberries, cream and white. Anyhow I should be thankful that we have an event at all. If anyone gets a chance check out the video highlights of S. Travaglia vs J. Thompson and ff to about 1:35 and watch the serve. Thought it was very funny. Re: USO Day 1, 8/31/20Welcome back... Corova vs US Open is not fun at all. And it looks like we might have either #24 or a brand new Champion. Can't stand McEnroe's self praising comments. Let's try to have some fun anyway.
Re: USO Day 1, 8/31/20This Italian teenager J Sinner is going to be someone to look out for in the future. At 19 and 6'2" tall this young man has all the game you can handle and then some. Was up 2 sets to love on Khachanov in the first round and lost in a tiebreak in the 5th set. Has monster strokes off both wings, a big serve and will be a contender in the upcoming years. Oh hi Ace and nice to be back. Hope Serena can do it Re: USO Day 1, 8/31/20Keep watching. It's happening. Of the 4 semifinalists, only 1 is slamless, Miss Brady. So, according to my earlier Prediction, before even the tournament started, It's Serena or Brady. Let's go !!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: USO Day 1, 8/31/20Well there goes #24. Once she called the Medic, I knew it was over. I didn't want to see the rest. I turned it off. She played a brilliant 1st set. She was lifting the balls up, over the net. She was really making an effort to do that. And it was working. She didn't want to dump the shots in the net. She was thinking out there. 2nd set: she stopped thinking. She was just hitting... hitting.. wildly. and the balls were landing at the bottom of the net. I wanted to scream "go back to plan A... watch the net.... hit over it... don't just hit"... She was bad. And then the ankle. I said "oh well, I am not watching the rest, sorry.. I'll check the score tomorrow". |
