AO Day 7, Sun 1/26/20Kenin has lots of control on her shots. She doesn't go wild. Re: AO Day 7, Sun 1/26/20Anti-climatic 3rd set here, but it's just experience for this young talent. Next event is IW? Don't know how many events she has left for her 15th year of birth... Re Kenin, she's indeed a disciplined player, never "wild". Doesn't beat herself with recklessness, nor is she error-prone in the least. A top-15 talent for sure... Re: AO Day 7, Sun 1/26/20I wonder how Osaka would be doing today against this Kenin. First time watching Kenin play a full match. Re: AO Day 7, Sun 1/26/20Naomi has already whipped her......twice. However, looking at their header they've split 4 matches. Naomi beat her at this year's Brisbane in 3, Naomi retired in their match at Cincy last year in the 3rd with a stomach issue, dismissed her at the '18 French in 2 and Sofia beat her at an ITF event in 2014 when she was 17. .... Re: AO Day 7, Sun 1/26/20Thanks.. Yeah ITF win doesn't count in my book. but Kenin is pretty conservative. Plays the full court... and is pretty consistent. It's a nice game she has. Re: AO Day 7, Sun 1/26/20Jabeur beat Q.Wang, the lady that took out Serena. Didn't watch this match but the result is pretty surprising. 6-1 in the 2nd set looks too easy. Great opportunity for her against Kenin. But I think Kenin will prevail. Her simple game is not that exciting for me but it's efficient.
Re: AO Day 7, Sun 1/26/20Qiang losing was no surprise. She played way above herself against Serena. She's now back down to earth though that 'win' over Serena was satisfying on many fronts, not least of which is quieting those Chinese fans who savaged her after her loss to Ree last year at the USO. |
