No major road infrastructure in the past 60, 100 years???. No High Speed trains... Even the airport in Singapore beats New York by miles. Our tax money only builds weapons. Too sad. Japan's been building elevated High Speed train rails this past decade. They figured out how to tame the earthquake. Otherwise, they'd stop building those rails.
