AO SkanNice solution Serena still to play her R2 (and she is not in my team), but it is nice to see myself appear in Tier 1 with a complete team after (almost) 4 days of action. And Novak (my #1 seed) still has to play too. Pretty decent! Round 1 Snapshot 66 of 78 teams survived Round 1 fully intact [good for 60 Victory pts]. Re: AO Skan1 set!?!?!?.... Just 1 set away from the illustrious Skan title for me if Pliskova had won.Incredible how many times this has happened to me at the final hurdle. Nevertheless,a Kvitova win in the final will hand me the title. LAUGHING CAVALIER- The All-Time Skan Contest Leader! Re: AO SkanA very strong team indeed, LCav. Kerber disappointed me, as did Nadal ... After his (fake?) pre-Aussie-health issue, I expected an early exit for him, thus hoping that the winner of the Tsitsipas-Federer match would be the bottom finalist. So I picked those two, together with Novak. In WTA, I (correctly) expected no Serena in the SF; overall, that top quarter was too difficult to pick a SF, so stayed away from that one. Q2 I picked Osaka, in Q3 it was a toss-up between Sabalenka and Kvitova (I went for Aryna, but Petra is - for once - on route to play two decent events in a row). And Kerber.... pffff.... she always should have been in the SF. After your great results in 2018, you should win this one. I could say that you should have stayed away from Serena, but the same goes for me on Sabalenka. Good luck in the all-deciding WTA final! Re: AO Skan
1.Nadal strategically gave the Brisbane tournament a miss.No way in hell was injured.Just showed up for appearances and plotted in the background his plan for Melbourne. 2.'Should have stayed away from Serena'..... And then pick who??? LOL!!!... WTA is a crapshoot. The fact soooooo many are in line for the Number 1 ranking tells you all you need to know. They lose any day of the week and then will catch fire every now and then. ... I narrowly missed out on claiming the 2018 Year End Skan title by some meagre points.Had I done so and triumphed & Kvitova wins in the final I'd be the reigning yearly skan champ (2018) + the reigning skan champion (Australian Open) + the All- Time Skan Contest leader..... Translation: The current holder of the holy trinity of Skan accolades. Peter Skan must be thankful I'm not as he'd have to dig deep in his vault of his Royal Mint prize awards.... LOL!!! ps: I don't trust Kvitova at all in the final but if I miss out I'll get it eventually.Keep knocking on the door too much, someone has to answer LAUGHING CAVALIER- The All-Time Skan Contest Leader! Re: AO SkanSemi-Final Snapshot Still no change in the podium positions: 1. TennisAnyone 74 [2515 pts] 2. LaughingCavalier [2452 pts] 3. Ace2Ace 2349 pts] TA and LC both have Djokovic and Nadal. I don't think the slight difference in their respective seedings of these players will change their standings. On the other hand, TA has Osaka and LC has Kvitova, so the women's final result should be the deciding factor As for the rest of us [WTA]: 20 others chose Osaka, and 13 others chose Kvitova. No one has both Osaka and Kvitova, so 43 teams have neither And for the ATP: 8 others have both Rafa and Nole; 59 have just Djokovic and 2 have just Rafa. Only 7 teams have neither The two contestants with only Rafa are SpaceBarSlam [currently 37th place] and CrossCourtBH [currently in 66th place]. If Rafa wins, they will make big gains up the leaderboard TA leads the Quality campaign with 235 pts, and Ace2Ace is the chief Dominator with 1044 pts RandomSkan is out of picks and confirmed for last place. Didn't want to interrupt him at the craps table with the news.
